The 2025 World Korean Community Leaders Convention successfully concluded on the afternoon of the 1st at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul, with participants pledging to consolidate the capabilities of the Korean diaspora for the peace and prosperity of the Republic of Korea.
Hosted by the Overseas Koreans Agency (OKA) (Commissioner Kim Kyoung-hyeop), the convention was held over three days under the slogan, “Connecting the World and Illuminating the Future with 7 Million Overseas Koreans.”
Approximately 370 participants, including Korean community leaders and continental federation executives from 67 countries around the world, attended the event.
In his closing speech, Commissioner Kim Kyoung-hyeop stated, “Through this convention, we have once again confirmed the potential and possibility of the global overseas Korean community,” and vowed, “We will do our utmost to ensure that the voices of the participants are translated into feasible policies.”
Prior to the closing ceremony that day, the participants held a general meeting and adopted a 10-point resolution that included provisions for the peace and stability of the Republic of Korea. They resolved to:

Strengthen private public diplomacy activities to inform the world of the necessity of peaceful reunification.
Foster the identity of next-generation Koreans and strengthen their ties with the motherland.
Actively cooperate so that young overseas Korean talent can contribute to overcoming demographic decline and the disappearance of local areas.
Improve the overseas election system.
