[Global Economic Times] The Gangneung City Hall curling team, which left for Canada on September 16, finished its month-long journey with a golden finish and maintained its 5th place in the world rankings.
The Gangneung City Hall Curling Team, which made a good start by taking second place out of 16 women's teams in the 2024 KW Fall Classic, the first competition of the training camp, won the second competition, the Grand Slam 2024 Hearing Life Tour Challenge Tier 1 (world rankings 1 to 16). Although they had a somewhat disappointing result, finishing in the quarterfinals, they showed a perfect performance to win all the games in the last competition, the 2024 Stu Sells Toronto Tankard.
The Gangneung City Hall curling team, which advanced to the finals with 3 wins out of 3 by defeating the world's powerful top ranked players, advanced to the semifinals by easily defeating Canada's Tim McCarble 8 to 1 in the quarterfinals, and faced the world's strongest curling nation in the semifinals and finals. They defeated the Swiss team one after another, lifting the trophy for the second consecutive time since 2023.
The Gangneung City Hall Curling Team will complete the first overseas training and, after resting and individual training in Korea, depart for Canada again for the second overseas training starting on the 29th. They will participate in a total of five international competitions over five weeks.
