Jeon Ji-hee was born in Langfang City, Hebei Province, China, in 1992. He showed exceptional talent in table tennis from a young age, and came to Korea at the age of 10 to hone his skills under the guidance of coach Kim Hyeong-seok. She succeeded in becoming a naturalized Korean in 2011, and won a silver medal in the women's team event at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, beginning to attract attention as a new hope for Korean table tennis.
