[Global Economic Times] In celebration of the 2024 ‘Healthcare-Associated Infection Prevention and Management Week,’ the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced that it will hold a policy forum under the theme of ‘Medical Institution Infection Prevention and Management System and Development Direction’ at 10 o’clock on October 17.
In order to prevent medical-related infections, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency has designated and operated the third week of October every year as 'Healthcare-related Infection Prevention and Control Week' in order to emphasize the importance of infection prevention and control activities for both workers and users of medical institutions. there is.
In this forum, experts in the field of infection prevention and control and medical institution officials will participate, and presentations and discussions will be held on the direction of development of infection prevention and control in medical institutions encompassing various fields.
In addition, at this event, we plan to award commendations from the Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency to 25 people who have contributed to the prevention and management of medical-related infections, praising their efforts to prevent and manage infections.
In his commemorative speech on this day, Director Ji Young-mi of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency emphasized, “Healthcare-related infections are the most important health issue to protect the health of people who use medical services,” and added, “We will listen to the voices of experts and field people discussed at today’s event. “We will actively review it so that it can be reflected in future medical-related infection prevention and management policies.”
