The announcement was made on October 9 (local time), with the groundbreaking vehicle being selected in the "Experimental" category among 300 total innovations.

The award-winning heavy-duty truck is the result of a powerful collaboration between Hyundai Motor and PlusAI, a prominent U.S. developer of autonomous driving software for commercial vehicles. It integrates Hyundai’s world-first mass-produced XCIENT Fuel Cell Class 8 heavy-duty truck platform—a proven zero-tailpipe-emission solution—with PlusAI's advanced Level 4 autonomous driving software, SuperDrive™.

A Leap in Sustainable, Driverless Logistics 

The selection by TIME underscores the industry-defining potential of combining two transformative technologies: hydrogen fuel cell propulsion and Level 4 autonomy. Level 4 autonomy signifies a truck's ability to operate autonomously without any need for human intervention under specific conditions, making it an ideal technology for hub-to-hub long-haul logistics.
