Samsung SDI Appoints New CEO, Reshuffles Leadership

Seoul, South Korea – Samsung SDI, a leading global battery manufacturer, announced today that Choi Ju-sun, currently the CEO of Samsung Display, has been appointed as the new CEO of Samsung SDI. The appointment is effective immediately.
Choi, a seasoned executive with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from KAIST, has a proven track record in the semiconductor and display industries. Before joining Samsung Display, he held various leadership roles at Samsung Electronics, including head of DRAM development and the company's North America operations.
"Choi has demonstrated exceptional leadership in driving technological advancements and fostering robust growth in both the semiconductor and display sectors," said a Samsung SDI spokesperson. "We are confident that his expertise and experience will be instrumental in driving Samsung SDI's innovation and enhancing the company's value."
In a related move, Choi Yoon-ho, the outgoing CEO of Samsung SDI, will take on a new role as the head of the Management Diagnosis Division at Samsung Global Research. This newly established division will be responsible for providing management consulting services to Samsung's affiliated companies.
Choi Yoon-ho, a seasoned finance expert with extensive global experience, is credited with laying the foundation for the growth of Samsung SDI's battery business amid challenging market conditions.
"Choi Yoon-ho's financial acumen and global business acumen will be invaluable in helping our affiliated companies achieve sustainable growth," said a spokesperson for Samsung Global Research.
Both Samsung SDI and Samsung Global Research are expected to announce additional executive appointments in the coming weeks.
