A shocking incident occurred in Rafael Castillo, La Matanza, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, on March 26th, where a three-year-old girl died from brutal beatings allegedly inflicted by her stepfather. The suspect, Alex Sanabria, a 24-year-old Paraguayan national, is currently being sought by Argentine police for homicide, and an international warrant has been issued through Interpol.
According to a report by the local news outlet Clarín, Sanabria severely beat his stepdaughter, L.M. (3 years old), who was already deceased upon arrival at the hospital. The hospital staff found severe bruising and marks on L.M.'s head, arms, legs, and back, consistent with being struck by wires and a club.
The investigation revealed that Susana C., the deceased L.M.'s mother and Sanabria's partner, was also a victim of ongoing domestic violence. Furthermore, bruises were found on Susana C.'s seven-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, indicating signs of abuse.
Police investigations revealed that Sanabria and Susana C. had only been in a relationship for six months, but numerous violent incidents reportedly occurred during that short period. On the day of the incident, Sanabria had already fled the scene when police arrived. The prosecutor in charge immediately ordered raids on three locations to apprehend Sanabria.
A shocking fact also emerged during the investigation: Sanabria was an undocumented immigrant who had fled to Argentina while under investigation for drug-related crimes in Paraguay. Authorities are expanding their investigation, not ruling out the possibility that Sanabria was involved in drug trafficking with the deceased stepdaughter's mother in Argentina as well.
This case has sent shockwaves through Argentine society and serves as a stark reminder of the seriousness of child abuse. Police are focusing all their investigative efforts on the swift apprehension of Sanabria and are working with international law enforcement to track his whereabouts.
