Cheonan City has launched the '2025 One Company, One Stream Cleanup Project' to commemorate World Water Day (March 22nd). The initiative aims to foster a healthy aquatic ecosystem and protect the natural environment through the participation of local businesses and organizations.
The project kicked off on March 21st with a launch ceremony and river cleanup activities at Cheonan Stream. This year, three new companies – Daeil Industrial Co., Ltd., Alga Co., Ltd., and ENT Korea Co., Ltd. – have joined the initiative, bringing the total number of participating entities to 20.
The participating companies and organizations, including industry giants like Samsung SDI and Samsung Display, as well as educational institutions like Dankook University, have pledged to collaborate on various environmental conservation activities. These activities include:
Cleaning up Cheonan Stream
Planting aquatic plants
Removing invasive plant species that disrupt the ecosystem
Cheonan City will support the participating companies and organizations by providing environmental education to enhance their environmental protection efforts. The city also aims to leverage this initiative to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
"On the occasion of World Water Day, we are launching this project to raise environmental awareness in our community and work together to preserve our natural environment," said Kim Seok-pil, Deputy Mayor of Cheonan City.
