San Salvador, El Salvador – The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) is making significant strides in its mission to enhance the efficiency and security of El Salvador's foreign trade. Through a series of strategic initiatives and partnerships, the DGA aims to position the nation as a key player in the global market.

Director-General of Customs, Benjamín Mayorga, has been at the forefront of these efforts, recently visiting Dataplex, a leading agricultural company in the country. The visit was aimed at fostering collaboration and exploring ways to optimize Dataplex's operations through the DGA's trade facilitation tools. "We invited their team to participate in the Trusted Operator program, which will grant them access to valuable benefits and streamline their trade processes," Mayorga stated.

The Trusted Operator program is a key component of the DGA's strategy to simplify customs procedures for reliable and compliant businesses. By joining this program, companies like Dataplex can enjoy expedited customs clearance, reduced inspection rates, and other advantages that contribute to a more efficient supply chain.

In a parallel effort to bolster trade security, the DGA has also entered into a significant agreement with the Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC). This partnership is designed to strengthen the security of the international supply chain and facilitate smoother trade flows. "This agreement marks a milestone in the security of the international supply chain," Mayorga emphasized during the signing ceremony.

The collaboration with BASC will enable the DGA to implement streamlined mechanisms for validating logistics security criteria. Furthermore, it will facilitate the promotion and dissemination of both the Trusted Operator El Salvador and BASC El Salvador programs, fostering a culture of secure and efficient trade practices.

These initiatives reflect the DGA's commitment to modernizing its operations and aligning with international best practices.
