Naver Pay (Npay) announced that it is introducing an "Npay Wallet"-based Non-Fungible Token (NFT) ticketing and visit verification system for the "107th National Sports Festival," which opens on the 16th in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
NFT is a technology that uses blockchain to prove the unique identification information and ownership of digital assets.
This marks the first time that NFT digital tickets are being applied to the National Sports Festival. Previously, Npay Wallet-based NFT tickets were utilized as admission credentials for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 46th National Para Games, which took place from the 11th to the 16th of last month.
After applying for a digital ticket on the National Sports Festival website and opening an Npay Wallet linked to a Naver ID, users can instantly receive an NFT-style ticket for the opening and closing ceremonies. Consequently, attendees will enter the opening and closing ceremonies held at the Jeju World Cup Stadium using NFT tickets instead of traditional paper tickets.
"Npay Wallet" is a Web3 digital asset wallet service that anyone can easily use based on their Naver ID. By safely storing and managing admission tickets for large-scale events such as sports events and festivals in the form of NFTs, it prevents ticket counterfeiting, tampering, and illegal trading. Npay Wallet-based NFT tickets have been utilized for identity verification and admission at various event sites, including the "Audi Football Summit 2026" and home games of the professional baseball team NC Dinos last August.
At this year's National Sports Festival, Npay Wallet-based NFTs will also be utilized as a means of event participation and visit verification. All visitors who visit about 70 stadiums across the province until the 22nd, when the competition concludes, can receive stadium-specific attendance record NFTs in their "Npay Wallet." Special commemorative NFTs will also be issued for volunteers.
"We are meaningful to be able to provide visitors with a new NFT-based experience at large-scale events like the National Sports Festival through Npay Wallet," said Lee Mi-young, Lead Leader of Npay Pay Infrastructure & Biz. "We will expand services linked to Npay Wallet in the sports and entertainment sectors to offer visitors fresh content experiences powered by NFTs."
