Freezing Temperatures Grip Northern Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - Northern regions of Saudi Arabia are experiencing a significant cold wave, with temperatures in some areas dipping to freezing. The National Center for Meteorology issued a forecast on Tuesday warning of exceptionally cold weather in Tabuk, Jouf, the Northern Borders, Hail, and parts of the Eastern Province on Wednesday and Thursday.
Minimum temperatures are predicted to range between 0 and 3 degrees Celsius. Frost is expected to form in some areas, particularly in the highlands of Tabuk. Gusty winds and rainfall are also forecasted in parts of Makkah, while fog may form in Makkah, Jazan, Asir, and the Baha region.
In response to the cold wave, education authorities in several regions have adjusted school schedules. Qurayyat and Tabuk have delayed the start of classes to 9:00 AM. School assemblies have been suspended in Hail, with classes now starting at 7:45 AM. The Eastern Province has also adjusted school start times to 7:30 AM out of concern for student and staff safety.
The Ministry of Education in the Eastern Province has urged students to wear heavy winter clothing to protect themselves from the cold. The National Center for Meteorology has advised residents to closely monitor weather updates and follow safety guidelines issued by relevant authorities.
