T1, led by star player Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok), defeated rival KT Rolster 3-2 in the finals held in Chengdu, China. This marks T1's sixth overall World Championship title. A total of 17 teams from five major regional leagues across the globe participated in this year's tournament.

In a Facebook post, President Lee extended his sincere congratulations to the T1 players and staff, stating, "T1 has achieved the first three-peat in the history of the League of Legends World Championship. I sincerely congratulate the T1 team members and everyone involved."

The President emphasized the significance of the victory: "You have illuminated the name of the Republic of Korea on the world stage and once again proven the prowess of an esports powerhouse. I am truly proud."

He praised the team's performance, noting, "Their solid teamwork, their spirit that overcame limitations, and their determination for victory delivered deep emotion to fans across the world, transcending national borders."

President Lee further promised government support for the industry, asserting, "We will actively support the development of the cultural industry, including esports, so that our players can continue to pursue their dreams and passion to the fullest."

Concluding his message, the President paid tribute to the runners-up, stating, "I respect T1's magnificent run and wholeheartedly cheer for the players who will continue to write new history and legends. I also send warm applause to the KT Rolster team, who finished as runners-up but delivered a wonderful match right up to the final fifth set."

Kang Hoon-sik, Chief of Staff to the President, also took to social media to celebrate, remarking, "We hoped, but Faker has gone beyond a legend to write a myth. Congratulations to both the team and Faker." The Chief of Staff added, "I feel a sense of awe when I see Faker, who has established an unrivaled domain in one field for over a decade and has once again broken an astonishing record.
