As the Earth's natural environment deteriorates, the upcycling industry, which transforms waste resources into new products, is becoming increasingly important. In response, the Isidore Institute for Sustainable Development (Director Yoo Byung-deok) announced plans to expand the upcycling sector by implementing the government's '2025 Upcycling Industry Promotion Support Project'.

Support Target and Areas

The support target of this project includes upcycling product manufacturing and sales companies, as well as material companies that can utilize waste materials as raw materials for upcycling products. The support areas are divided into three categories according to the growth stage of the company, and the support amount for each area is as follows:

Challenge Area: Up to KRW 14 million (Intensive Development Project: KRW 28 million)
Growth Area: Up to KRW 42 million (Intensive Development Project: KRW 84 million)
Leap Area: Up to KRW 126 million (Intensive Development Project: KRW 200 million)
Application Method and Schedule
Companies wishing to apply must apply online at the Upcycling Comprehensive Portal (www.upcycleus.kr) by 4 PM on February 26, 2024. ISCC Certification Support

Selected upcycling companies can also receive support for ISCC certification and consulting through the support project. ISCC certification is an international sustainability and carbon certification, a global standard that certifies the sustainability of eco-friendly raw materials and greenhouse gas reduction effects. Through ISCC certification, companies can gain access to overseas markets, expand opportunities for collaboration with global brands, secure consumer trust, and increase sales.
