Uruguay Showcases Tourism Potential at Brazil's Cruise360 Event

Santos, Brazil – Uruguay's tourism industry made a significant push to attract cruise passengers and boost tourism revenue at the recent Cruise360 event held in Santos, Brazil. The event, which took place at Parque Valongo, brought together major shipping companies, cruise lines, and over 600 travel agencies from various Brazilian states.
A delegation from Uruguay, led by the National Director of Tourism, highlighted the country's diverse tourist attractions and offerings. The goal was to encourage cruise passengers to disembark and spend money on activities, tours, and local products. In addition to institutional engagements with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), trade associations, and companies, the Uruguayan operators also engaged in business-to-business meetings with their Brazilian counterparts.
"We emphasized the attractions and diverse tourist offerings of our country, with the aim of stimulating cruise passenger disembarkation, as well as spending on activities, tours, and national products," stated the National Director of Tourism.

Cruise360 is a premier event for cruise industry professionals, providing comprehensive training and networking opportunities. This year's event featured exclusive on-site content, technical visits to iconic ships such as the Costa Diadema, Costa Pacifica, MSC Grandiosa, and MSC Seaview, and workshops on effective sales strategies for both domestic and international cruises.
The event focused on equipping travel agents with the tools and strategies necessary to sell a wide range of cruise experiences, from contemporary to river cruises. In addition to product and destination training, Cruise360 also addressed industry trends, new business development, and upcoming product launches for the coming seasons.
