Tripoli, Libya – Mellitah Oil & Gas Company has successfully contained a critical hydraulic control fluid leak at the eastern well complex of its submerged wells on the Sabratha offshore platform, located in the Bahr Al-Salam field, averting a potential major disruption to Libya's natural gas supply.

Had it gone unchecked, the incident could have resulted in the loss of approximately 160 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, a substantial portion of the field's output.

"The potential loss of 160 million cubic feet per day would have severely impacted the coastal pipeline, which is the lifeline for numerous critical industries and power generation facilities across Libya."
