Jeju, South Korea – The Korean Illumination and Electrical Equipment Society (KIIEE) successfully hosted its 2024 Autumn Academic Conference and General Assembly at the Buyoung Hotel & Resort in Jeju from November 13th to 15th. The conference served as a platform for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to exchange the latest research findings, practical techniques, and explore future trends in the fields of lighting and electrical equipment.

KIIEE President Ahn Seop emphasized the conference's goal of fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration, and communication to shape a brighter future. "This conference aims to provide a forum for sharing knowledge and experiences in the fields of lighting and electrical equipment, and to foster collaboration and communication to shape a better future," said President Ahn.

The conference featured a diverse program that included 112 paper presentations, invited lectures, workshops, and a capstone design competition.

In the lighting field, presentations covered a wide range of topics, including LED, μLED, and OLED technologies, as well as smart lighting, human-centric lighting, media facade lighting, and lighting integration. Notably, workshops on AI-based building energy-saving technologies and global strategies for human-centric lighting garnered significant interest. Additionally, the Korean National Committee of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) and the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute organized separate workshops.

The electrical equipment field showcased the latest research on smart electrical equipment, power system applications, and high-voltage equipment. Workshops on power equipment asset management, electrical safety equipment, and energy convergence for achieving carbon neutrality, co-organized with the Korean Solar Energy Society, also attracted considerable attention.

Ahn Yang-won, a department manager at Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), delivered a keynote speech on KEPCO's innovative technologies, further enriching the conference.

President Ahn expressed his gratitude to the special member companies that sponsored the event and to all those who contributed to the success of the conference. "I hope that this event has been a meaningful experience for all participants," he said.
