Chungcheongnam-do reunited in Buyeo just two months later with the dispatched workers to Germany whom the province met last August, sharing a joyous reunion.
On the 12th, the province hosted a welcoming event for the home visit, greeting around 40 dispatched workers affiliated with the Korean Senior Citizens Association in Germany in and around Buyeo-gun.
This event was arranged as a follow-up to the meeting with the Chungcheong Province Fellowship Association in Germany held in Frankfurt, Germany, last August.
At the time, Governor Park Soo-hyun met with the Chungcheong Province Fellowship Association in Germany and proposed meeting again in Chungnam upon their visit to Korea. Dispatched workers who attended that meeting—including Senior Advisor Kim Woo-sun and Vice President Kim Myung-soon—participated in this visit, turning that promise into an actual meeting.
The delegation toured major historical sites such as the Royal Tombs in Buyeo and Jeongnimsa Temple Site on this day, experiencing the history and culture of Baekje.
Following the tour, they spent meaningful time sharing various stories with the dispatched workers in the homeland through a welcoming dinner hosted by Deputy Governor Goo Bon-young, while receiving souvenirs utilizing local specialty products.
Deputy Governor Goo stated, "The ties we forged in Frankfurt, Germany, have led to such a precious meeting today," and added, "I extend my deep gratitude to all of you, the dispatched workers, who spared no effort, sweat, and hard work for the development of our country far away in Germany."
He continued, "I hope today's gathering becomes a warm time to share each other's stories and affection," and added, "The province will cherish today's ties and continue to communicate and exchange with the Korean community in Germany."
Meanwhile, the Korean Senior Citizens Association in Germany (a incorporated association) was established in February 2016 and currently has around 820 members active, working hard for the rights and welfare promotion, friendship and exchange, community service, and intergenerational communication of the elderly Korean community in Germany.
