Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation Successfully Concludes Chungnam Gastronomy Pop-Up Store with Over 4,000 Visitors in 3 Days

The Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation (acting CEO Lee Han-soo) announced that the "2026 Western Inland Region Chungnam Gastronomy Pop-Up Store," held at Chabot Seongsu in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, from October 9 (Friday) to October 11 (Sunday) for three days, successfully wrapped up with a total of over 4,000 visitors.

This pop-up store was organized in conjunction with the Chungnam tourism campaign "Chungnam Travel Festa 2026" to promote Chungnam's unique foods and tourism resources to consumers in the metropolitan area, aiming to revitalize gastronomy tourism that leads to actual visits to the region.

In particular, the event garnered a response far exceeding initial expectations, with an average of over 1,200 visitors flocking to the venue each day. The site saw a continuous stream of visitors eager to taste and experience Chungnam’s representative foods, highlighting the explosive popularity as tasting items and promotional goods prepared by participating businesses sold out early.

Operating under the theme of "Delicious Discovery of Chungnam," the event showcased signature regional foods representing Chungnam, including:

-Asan Jeonghodu's walnut pastries
-Yesan Iri Rice Mill's coffee
-Cheonan Tujour's stone-kiln bread

Visitors experienced unique regional foods that are usually difficult to encounter all in one place, directly confirming the charm of Chungnam's gastronomic resources.

Additionally, the venue featured a gastronomy exploration zone introducing regional specialties from various parts of Chungnam, alongside a travel recommendation corner providing tourism information. This served as an opportunity to promote Chungnam's diverse tourism resources beyond a simple food experience.

The event holds great significance as it directly showcased Chungnam's regional foods in Seongsu-dong, a representative cultural and consumer hub in the metropolitan area. It provided local businesses with an opportunity to meet new consumers while achieving the milestone of establishing Chungnam as a new gastronomic travel destination for visitors.

Choi Dong-seok, Head of the Tourism Business Division at the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, "Far more visitors than initially expected came out and showed passionate interest in Chungnam's food, to the point that our prepared items sold out early. Through this event, we were able to reaffirm the competitiveness and potential of Chungnam's gastronomy tourism."

He added, "Moving forward, we will continue to discover Chungnam’s differentiated gastronomic resources and introduce various tourism contents linked with local businesses, ensuring that this translates into actual visits to Chungnam by metropolitan area tourists."
