[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES] We are constantly faced with choices. Left or right, progressive or conservative, this side or that side. This dichotomous way of thinking has penetrated deep into politics, society, religion, and even families, dominating our lives. It's as if the world is divided into black and white, and we must choose one side. But is the world really made up of such a simple structure?
The reality of families being split up due to different ideologies and thoughts, and even people who believe in the same religion engaging in extreme conflicts tells us a lot. It seems as if we have become accustomed to being trapped within a set framework and ostracizing and criticizing people who have different ideas than ourselves. But what does this black and white logic really bring us?
Black and white logic undermines the value of diversity and pushes society to extremes. Attempting to judge all problems simply by dividing them into good and evil, right and wrong, actually makes problem solving difficult and intensifies conflict between members of society.
So how can we break away from this black-and-white logic and create a society that respects diversity?
Acknowledge the existence of gray areas: There is no black and white in the world, but countless gray areas in between. We must be open to these various possibilities and listen to the opinions of others.
Effort to understand the other person: Rather than simply denying or criticizing other people's thoughts and values, you need to make an effort to think from their perspective.
Solving problems through dialogue and communication: Rather than getting stuck in black and white thinking and blaming each other, we need to make an effort to solve problems through dialogue and communication.
Let go of prejudice and be open-minded: We all have prejudices. However, efforts are needed to overcome these prejudices and look at the world with an open mind.
The world cannot be simplified into black and white thinking. We are a collection of individuals with diverse thoughts and values, and this diversity is the driving force that enriches our society. We must break away from the black-and-white framework and create a better world based on mutual respect and understanding.
