Yeon-woo Ku has won the women's singles title at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Nakhon Pathom tournament held in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.
On the final day of the tournament on the 7th, Ku faced Anchisa Chanta of Thailand in the singles final. Ku won the first set 6-4, and in the second set, leading 2-0, she secured the victory after her opponent retired due to a leg injury.
This victory is a significant result for Ku. Despite suffering from a bad cold last week, she displayed an unwavering performance.
Currently ranked 338th in the world, Ku has solidified her resolve for her next goals with this victory. Through her management company, Prain Sports, she stated, "I want to enter the top 200 in the world rankings within this year and compete in the qualifiers for a Grand Slam tournament next year."
Ku plans to continue her momentum by participating in the ITF tournament in China next week, which has a total prize money of $40,000.
