TAIPEI – The 2025 Keelung Langqu Carnival successfully concluded its two-day run on July 26 and 27 at the Badouzi Fishing Harbor’s Bisha Marina. The festival drew a huge number of visitors, captivating Keelung's summer nights with performances by popular bands and singers, a diverse food market, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Hosted by the Keelung City Government, the Langqu Carnival was themed "Music Party of Mountains and Seas," and was set against the stunning backdrop of the coastal scenery. On the first day of the event, the 26th, talented musicians took to the stage, including rising female vocalist Chen Hua, popular singers Elkie Chong Ting-xin and Lara Liang Hsin-yi, Golden Melody Award-winning band MIXER, and the queen of ballads, Ding Dang. Their passionate performances, combined with the romantic seaside atmosphere, left a deep impression on the audience.

The closing ceremony on the 27th was the highlight of the festival. Go-Wen-Ren (告五人), a representative band of Generation Z, and popular hip-hop artist OSN Gao Er-xuan took the stage to close out the event. Their explosive energy brought the atmosphere to its peak. After the performances, a dazzling 360-second high-altitude fireworks show lit up the night sky, drawing gasps of awe from the crowd. It showcased the festival as more than just a music event, but a comprehensive artistic celebration that added visual enjoyment.

A New City Image Combining Music and Tourism 

The festival served as an opportunity to cement Keelung’s new city image. Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang stated, "Through this Langqu Carnival, I hope people will remember Keelung not just for its Miaokou Night Market, but as a city full of music, culture, and things to enjoy." Tsai Fu-ning, Director of Keelung City's Department of Economic Affairs, added, "To improve visitor convenience, we operated over 100 food stalls, photo zones, and a stamp tour. We also provided free shuttle buses running between Keelung Station and the Diaohe Street Transfer Station."

In addition to the musical performances, a variety of other events were organized to enrich the festival. During the daytime, a special sea-tour program offered free rides on cruise ships for guests to admire the beautiful coastal scenery. This showed how the Keelung City Government is strategically using music festivals as a means to boost the local economy and enhance the city's brand.

The successful hosting of the 2025 Keelung Langqu Carnival proves that Keelung is developing into an attractive tourist city where culture and art thrive. The diverse cultural events that the city will present in the future are highly anticipated.
