A far-right organization, Libakschool, is raising suspicions of external pressure in the Ministry of Education's "Neulbom School" project selection, and the public disclosure of a document titled "Plan to Infiltrate All Levels of Society by Far-Right Forces" is causing a stir.

The Democratic Party has fully raised suspicions of collusion between President Yoon Suk-yeol's office and the far-right civic group 'Libakschool,' urging a thorough investigation. The Democratic Party claimed that a plan for far-right forces to infiltrate all levels of society has been meticulously pursued, disclosing internal documents of Libakschool, and strongly criticized the alleged external pressure from the Presidential Office during the selection process for the Ministry of Education's Neulbom School project.

Shocking Disclosure of Libakschool's Internal Documents 

On July 11, during a National Assembly hearing on Libakschool, the Democratic Party caused a stir by disclosing shocking internal documents from Libakschool. Baek Seung-ah, the Democratic Party's floor spokesperson, stated in a briefing, "It has been revealed that a plan to systematically train far-right individuals and infiltrate them into all levels of society has been meticulously pursued for several years."

The disclosed documents contained specific details, including:

Training right-wing civic groups to counter left-wing forces.
Operating a task force for the rehabilitation of Chun Doo-hwan's honor.
Monitoring the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Korean Teachers and Educational Workers' Union, Naver, and the media.
Promoting the establishment of right-wing organizations such as the Free Think Tank Foundation, the Free Workers' Association, and the Free Law Research Society.
A plan to rebuild alternatives for the free camp.
A plan for using scholarships from the Freedom College Scholarship Foundation.
Democratic Party lawmaker Ko Min-jung criticized Libakschool, stating that it "systematically operated with the goal of training and infiltrating the far-right in various fields of society to take over the Republic of Korea."

If the contents of these documents are true, Libakschool can be interpreted not merely as a conservative civic group but as having executed a long-term plan to systematically train individuals with a specific ideology and place them in key social sectors to expand their influence. This raises serious concerns, as it could pose a significant threat to South Korea's democracy and social cohesion.

Allegations of External Pressure in Neulbom School Project Selection, Signs of Presidential Office Involvement Detected 

Among the allegations related to Libakschool, the Democratic Party views the 'Neulbom School' project selection, where signs of intervention by President Yoon Suk-yeol's office were detected, as a serious issue. Baek Seung-ah, the floor spokesperson, pointed out, "During the hearing, there was even testimony that a high-ranking official from President Yoon Suk-yeol's office exerted pressure on the Ministry of Education to select an organization associated with Libakschool for the 'Neulbom School' project."

Indeed, Kim Chun-hong, Director-General of the Education Welfare and Neulbom Support Bureau at the Ministry of Education, testified at the Libakschool hearing that he "received a request from the Presidential Secretary for Education to 'take good care of Glory Social Cooperative'" before the Neulbom School main institution project public offering review, and that he "felt it was pressure." 'Glory Social Cooperative' is known to be closely related to Libakschool.

The Neulbom School is one of the Yoon Suk-yeol government's key education policies, providing integrated after-school and care services for elementary school students. The alleged intervention by the Presidential Office for a specific organization in the selection process of such an important national education policy project goes beyond simple preferential treatment and has the potential to escalate into state mismanagement. If such external pressure is proven true, the government would face criticism for funneling budgets and interests to an organization with a specific ideology and attempting to unduly influence public education policy through it.

Libakschool Representative's 'Absurd' Explanation and Democratic Party's Call for Investigation 

Son Hyo-sook, the representative of Libakschool, who is at the center of the allegations, was criticized for portraying herself as a victim, repeatedly claiming "witch hunt" throughout the hearing. Baek, the floor spokesperson, criticized Son for "repeating absurd excuses like 'I don't know' and 'I'm in a state of diminished capacity' and insulting the public and the National Assembly with the outrageous remark, 'What's wrong with Baekgoldan?'" 'Baekgoldan' refers to the police forces deployed to suppress protests during past authoritarian governments, which sparked controversy over human rights abuses. Son's remarks were pointed out as an act that obscured the essence of the allegations and provoked public outrage.

The Democratic Party emphasized the seriousness of the matter and urged investigative authorities to thoroughly ascertain the truth. Baek, the floor spokesperson, stressed, "Investigative authorities must clearly reveal why the Yoon Suk-yeol government took care of Libakschool, who ordered it, and what their intentions were," adding, "Those involved must be held strictly accountable."

The current Libakschool allegations are not merely an issue concerning a specific organization but serve as a significant warning to our society regarding the attempted infiltration of far-right forces and the potential for undue intervention by the Presidential Office.
