Gimhae, South Korea - Gimhae City has announced a new initiative to ease the financial burden on newlyweds by subsidizing home renovation costs. The program aims to support couples who have recently purchased their first home after marriage.
The city plans to assist four households in the first half of the year, offering financial aid of up to 5 million won, covering 50% of the total renovation expenses.
To be eligible for the program, couples must meet several criteria:
They must be newlyweds residing in Gimhae City who have purchased their first home after marriage.
Their marriage registration date must be within seven years of the program's announcement date.
Their combined annual income must be 80 million won or less.
The purchased house must be older than 10 years and have a market value of 250 million won or less.
The house purchase date must be after the marriage registration date.
Eligible couples can submit their applications to the Joint Housing Division of Gimhae City.
One resident, Mr. A, who has been married for three years and lives in Gimhae, expressed his gratitude for the program. "My wife and I have been considering renovating our home, which we bought during our honeymoon, but the cost was a concern," he said. "This support from the city is a great help, and we are happy that we can now use the saved money for our future child."
This initiative is expected to significantly alleviate the financial strain on newlyweds as they settle into their new homes and start their families.
