TRAVERSE CITY, MI – An shocking incident occurred on July 26, 2025 (local time) when a man in his 40s went on a stabbing rampage at a Walmart supermarket in Traverse City, Michigan, injuring 11 people. The suspect was subdued by citizens at the scene and turned over to the police. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the event.

Indiscriminate Attack and Scene of Carnage 

Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea identified the suspect as a 42-year-old Michigan resident but did not release his specific identity. Eyewitness Julia Martel testified, “I heard screams and saw a man with a knife pushing and stabbing people.” She described the horrific scene by adding, “There was blood everywhere.” The suspect appeared to attack victims at random, not targeting anyone specifically. 11 Injured, 6 in Critical Condition 

A total of 11 people were injured in the incident and have been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
