Cheonan, South Korea – The Cheonan Volunteer Center is actively fostering a spirit of volunteerism within the community by offering the 'Blue Sharing Volunteer Basic Education' program. This initiative targets a wide range of participants, including students from elementary, middle, and high schools, university students, and members of volunteer-related organizations.
The primary goal of this program is to instill the values and significance of volunteer work, thereby encouraging and boosting participation in such activities. The curriculum covers essential aspects of volunteering, such as understanding its fundamental principles, recognizing its necessity, and learning the appropriate roles and attitudes for volunteers. Participants also receive guidance on navigating the 1365 Volunteer Portal, a key resource for volunteer activities.
The program offers flexibility with both on-site and regular training sessions. Schools, institutions, and groups can request personalized on-site training by submitting an application form available on the Cheonan Volunteer Center's website. Additionally, regular training sessions are held every second Friday of each month at the center's training facility, open to individual applicants through the 1365 Volunteer Portal and groups of ten or more.
Oh Seon-hee, the head of the Cheonan Volunteer Center, emphasized the importance of this basic training, particularly for new volunteers and volunteer groups. "Understanding the meaning, necessity, and proper mindset of volunteering significantly enriches the volunteer experience," Oh stated. "We strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this educational opportunity."
This program is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening community bonds and promoting a culture of active participation in volunteer services across Cheonan.
