Daegu, South Korea – Four basic local governments in Daegu – Dong-gu, Buk-gu, Suseong-gu, and Dalseo-gu – have joined forces to launch the 'Cultural Heritage Exploration Team' (문화유산 탐험대), a collaborative program aimed at exploring and promoting the region's history and culture. The initiative, running from October 25 to November 29, marks the first joint project following a 'Business Agreement for Joint Utilization and Research of National Heritage' signed by the four districts earlier this year.

This experiential program is designed to allow participants to delve into the historical and cultural assets of each district through expert-led tours. Scholars with master's or doctoral degrees will provide in-depth commentary as the 'Exploration Team' visits various historical sites, exhibition halls, and local heritage spots. The tours are organized into four thematic courses, each highlighting a distinct period of history, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the region's historical value and unique characteristics.

The first course, the 'Prehistoric Course,' is scheduled for October 25. It will feature visits to the Dalseo Prehistory Museum, Hanseam Bronze Park, and the dolmens of Jincheon-dong and Sang-dong. The 'Three Kingdoms Course' on November 1 will explore historical burial sites, including the Bullo-dong and Guam-dong Ancient Tombs, along with the Daegu Education Museum.

The exploration continues on November 22 with the 'Joseon Dynasty Course,' which includes key Confucian and traditional sites such as Guamseowon Academy, Otgol Village, and the Nobyeon-dong Sajik (Altar). Finally, the 'Modern and Contemporary Course' on November 29 will cover historical landmarks representing recent history, including Yeongnamjeilgwan Gate, Joyang Hall, Samsung Creative Campus, and the Sanghwa Memorial Hall.

The program is open to all residents of Daegu. The participation fee is 10,000 Korean Won per person and includes lunch and refreshments. Applications must be submitted online through the respective district's website one week prior to the start date of each course. This collaborative effort is expected to foster regional cooperation and significantly enhance public awareness and appreciation of Daegu's rich cultural heritage.
