Unveiling a new project to revitalize regional tourism through the "Korea Every Corner" platform
From discovering storytelling content to offering up to a 30% discount on travel packages

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO, President Park Sung-hyuk) is launching a full-scale rollout of the "Regional Tourism Booster," a new initiative designed to generate tourism demand in areas experiencing population decline through partnerships with the private sector and local governments.

This project was conceived to showcase the unique charm of depopulated areas—which relatively few outside visitors frequent—and create a sustainable structure that directly translates into increased tourist visits and local spending. The Regional Tourism Booster strategically utilizes the KTO-operated integrated domestic travel platform, "Korea Every Corner," alongside its official social media channels.

While past efforts on "Korea Every Corner" were largely limited to discovering and promoting regional tourism content, the KTO plans to establish a virtuous cycle spanning from product commercialization to widespread distribution, providing a powerful driving force for tourism in depopulated regions.

First, the KTO will uncover hidden local narratives through close collaboration with local governments. Based on these stories, the organization will craft diverse travel articles, social media content, and audio guides (Odii) reflecting each region's distinct identity, promoting them intensively across all channels, including the "Korea Every Corner" website, mobile app, and social media.

In addition, the organization will fully support the distribution of outstanding package tours from 10 travel agencies selected through a public contest. Featured offerings available through the "Korea Every Corner" Travel Product Promotion Pavilion include a trekking package to fully experience the autumn silver grass of Miryang (Seungwoo Travel Agency); a KTX train tour featuring the five-colored autumn foliage and culinary experiences of Naejangsan Mountain (Hongik Travel Agency, Haemil Travel Agency); a Baengnyeongdo Island pilgrimage tour following the footsteps of Father Andrew Kim Taegon (Yeonpyeong Travel Agency); and a family-friendly "hotel-vacation" package (Wonderweeks Company). Furthermore, the KTO is running a discount promotion to ease financial burdens for consumers traveling to these regions, offering discounts of up to 30% on product prices (capped at 30,000 KRW per person).

Lee Sun-woo, head of the Domestic Digital Marketing Team at KTO, stated, "This initiative was designed to add tangible momentum to tourism in depopulated regions by leveraging 'Korea Every Corner,' our core digital asset. Moving forward, we will pool our platform marketing capabilities to re-illuminate hidden regional attractions and drive mutual growth with private enterprises."
