Chungnamdo, South Korea – The Chungnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (CCEI) has announced the launch of its '2025 Chungnam New Technology Proposal Contest Project,' aimed at fostering technological innovation and supporting the commercialization of novel ideas originating from both residents and businesses within the Chungcheongnam-do province. The application period is open until 4:00 PM on April 30th, 2025, with submissions accepted online through the Chungnam CCEI integrated application system.
This initiative, spearheaded by Chungcheongnam-do and managed by Chungnam CCEI, seeks to empower local innovators by providing crucial resources for the development and market entry of their cutting-edge technologies. The contest targets companies based in Chungnam that possess demonstrable new technologies across all industrial sectors.
The 2025 edition of the contest offers comprehensive support across three key areas:
Intellectual Property Rights Creation: Recognizing the importance of protecting innovative ideas, the project offers support for both domestic and international patent applications. Successful applicants in this category can receive up to KRW 3 million in funding, with a mandatory 10% self-contribution.
Prototype Production: To bridge the gap between concept and tangible product, the contest provides financial assistance for the creation of functional prototypes. Selected projects are eligible for up to KRW 7 million in funding, also requiring a 10% self-contribution.
Testing and Certification: In a significant expansion from the previous year, the 2025 contest now includes support for essential testing and certification processes required for the successful commercialization of technology-based products. Applicants in this area can receive up to KRW 3 million in funding, with a 10% self-funding component.
Eligibility for participation is broad, encompassing individual residents of Chungcheongnam-do and startup companies located within the province that are less than seven years old as of the official announcement date. This inclusive approach aims to tap into the diverse pool of innovative talent within the region.
An official spokesperson for Chungnam CCEI emphasized the strategic importance of this project, stating, "In order to drive technological advancement within our province, it is paramount that we actively protect promising new technologies and the intellectual property rights associated with them. Furthermore, facilitating their transition into viable businesses and commercially successful products is a key priority. We have increased the scale of our support this year to better serve the needs of our innovation ecosystem, and we strongly encourage the active participation of Chungnam residents and local enterprises possessing outstanding technological capabilities."
Interested individuals and companies are urged to visit the Chungnam CCEI website ([insert website address here if known, otherwise omit]) and access the integrated application system ([insert application system link here if known, otherwise omit]) for detailed information regarding the application process, eligibility criteria, and project guidelines.
