Daegu, South Korea – The World Orchestra Festival, a premier classical music event representing Daegu as a UNESCO City of Music, is set to commence its 60-day run on September 19. This year's festival, themed "Diversity," promises an extensive array of musical experiences, featuring top-tier orchestras and emerging artists from both Korea and abroad.

Global Reach and Celebratory Engagements 

A highlight of this year's festival is the Daegu City Symphony Orchestra's "World Orchestra Festival in Japan" tour. Scheduled to perform in Hiroshima, Osaka, and Fukuoka, this tour aims to elevate Daegu's musical standing on the international stage. The tour's opening performance at the Daegu Concert House on September 19 will serve as a preview of these highly anticipated Japanese concerts. Led by Daegu City Symphony Orchestra's conductor, Baek Jin-hyun, the preview will feature pianist Miyuji Kaneko. The festival will also welcome the Slovenian Philharmonic, an orchestra with over 300 years of history, on November 19. They will present a blend of traditional and contemporary works with pianist Son Min-soo.
