Hyundai Motor Group Announces Executive Reshuffle on Dec 24; Jin Eun-sook Promoted to President Ryu Seok-moon Named CEO of Hyundai AutoEver to Strengthen Technical Expertise

Hyundai Motor Group has executed a strategic executive reshuffle focused on software (SW) and IT capabilities, signaling a bold shift toward technology-driven management. The move is highlighted by the appointment of the first female president in Hyundai Motor’s history and the installation of a development expert at the helm of its software arm, Hyundai AutoEver.

On December 24, the Group announced the promotion of Jin Eun-sook, Executive Vice President of ICT, to President. Simultaneously, Ryu Seok-moon, Executive Vice President at Hyundai AutoEver, was named the new CEO of the software specialist subsidiary. These appointments reflect the Group’s commitment to accelerating its transition into a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) provider by placing seasoned technical leaders in pivotal roles.

President Jin Eun-sook joined Hyundai Motor in 2022 after serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at NHN. Renowned for her expertise in cloud computing, data, and platform services, Jin made history earlier this March as the first female internal director at Hyundai Motor. As President, she is expected to spearhead the Group's digital transformation (DX) strategies and upgrade global IT infrastructures, serving as a central figure in shaping future mobility.

The appointment of Ryu Seok-moon as CEO of Hyundai AutoEver further underscores this technical focus. Ryu, a veteran engineer who previously served as CTO of Socar and Technical Director at Riot Games, joined Hyundai AutoEver in 2024. He has since led the SW Platform Business Division, successfully managing core projects in vehicle software development. His appointment suggests a transition from the organizational restructuring era of his predecessor, Kim Youn-gu, to a phase centered on hardcore technological advancement.

"We will continue to strengthen technology-led management and invest heavily to solidify our position as a game-changer in the future mobility industry."
