Shinhan Card has introduced 'The BEST-X', a premium credit card that offers a wide range of benefits to attract high-spending customers. This is Shinhan Card's first premium card launch in six years, following the 'The BEST+' card released in February 2019.
'The BEST-X' provides customers with the choice between two reward options: 'My Shinhan Point' and 'Sky Pass Miles'. Customers can also select from various gift options, including department store gift certificates, hotel dining vouchers, travel and airline tickets, and mileage.
The card offers a selection of premium gift options, such as a 200,000 won mobile gift certificate for Shinsegae Department Store, a 230,000 won platinum hotel dining voucher, a 230,000 won My Real Trip voucher, a 250,000 won Air Premia ticket voucher, or 10,000 Korean Air miles. However, the Air Premia voucher is exclusive to the 'My Shinhan Point' option, while the Korean Air miles are only available with the 'Sky Pass Miles' option.
The 'My Shinhan Point' option allows customers to earn 1% of their spending in points, with an additional 0.5% earned for monthly spending exceeding 3 million won. The 'Sky Pass Miles' option offers 1 mile per 1,500 won spent, with an additional mile per 3,000 won for monthly spending over 3 million won, up to a maximum of 5,000 miles per month.
Both card types offer an additional 0.5% point accumulation (up to 30,000 points) for payments made through Shinhan SOL Pay within Korea and an additional 1% point accumulation for overseas payments.
The card also provides up to 170,000 won in annual cashback (70,000 won for cumulative spending of 30 million won, 100,000 won for 60 million won) and lifestyle discounts, such as 2,000 won off at coffee shops (Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Twosome Place) and 7% off taxi fares.
'The Lounge' service offers 10 complimentary visits per year to airport lounges worldwide through the app. For Mastercard holders, valet parking at Incheon Airport and select hotels is also available.
The annual fee for the 'My Shinhan Point' card is 297,000 won for domestic use and 300,000 won for international use (Mastercard). The 'Sky Pass Miles' card annual fee is 317,000 won for domestic use and 320,000 won for international use (Mastercard). More details can be found on the Shinhan Card website and Shinhan SOL Pay app.
