Shin Yu-bin advances to the round of 16 at the Asian Cup

South Korean national women's table tennis player Shin Yu-bin (Korean Air) defeated Joo Cheong-joo (Hong Kong) to advance to the round of 16.
Shin Yu-bin won the match against Joo Cheong-joo in the third round of the group league at the 34th Asian Cup held at the Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen, China on the 21st with a game score of 3-0 (14-12, 11-5, 11-4).
Shin Yu-bin, who defeated Zauresei Akasheva (Kazakhstan) in the first match and lost to Harimoto Miwa (Japan) in the second match, had to win the third match to advance to the round of 16. She defeated Joo Cheong-joo, recording 2 wins and 1 loss, and stepped on the round of 16 as the second place in the group.
In the Asian Cup, co-hosted by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU), 32 players are divided into 8 groups of 4 players each, and after playing a group league, the top 2 players from each group advance to the round of 16, and the winner is decided by a tournament.
Shin Yu-bin, who had a somewhat disappointing result of reaching the round of 16 at the Singapore Smash earlier this month, is aiming for a comeback in this tournament.
Seo Hyo-won (Korea Racing Authority), Lee Eun-hye (Korean Air), and Kim Na-young (POSCO International) also all marked 2 wins and 1 loss, and passed the group league as the second place in the group.
In the round of 16, Shin Yu-bin will face Wang Yidi (China). Kim Na-young will face Harimoto, who defeated Shin Yu-bin in the group league. Lee Eun-hye will face Sun Yingsha (China), and Seo Hyo-won will face Wang Manyu (China).
In the men's division, Ahn Jae-hyun (Korea Exchange) won 3 games, Jang Woo-jin (Sea) and Cho Dae-sung (Samsung Life) won 2 wins and 1 loss to advance to the round of 16, but Oh Jun-sung (Mirae Asset) was eliminated with 1 win and 2 losses, ranking third in the group.
Ahn Jae-hyun will meet Uda Yukiya (Japan), Jang Woo-jin will meet Li Yangjingkun (China), and Cho Dae-sung will meet Huang Yizheng (China).
