Daejeon City, Universities, Government-Funded Research Institutes, and University-Industry Cooperatives Operate as "One Team"
Supporting Global Marketing Based on This Year's New Investment Attraction Performance

Daejeon City has embarked on a full-scale journey toward 'CES 2027,' the world's largest home appliances and information technology (IT) exhibition.

On the 12th at 14:00, Daejeon City held the "CES 2027 Daejeon Integrated Pavilion Launch Ceremony" at the Daejeon Startup Park Headquarters, signaling a strong alliance among local innovation entities and a departure toward the global market.

Moving away from the conventional approach of solo operation by Daejeon City, this launch ceremony marks the creation of a 'One Team' consisting of major local universities with innovative capabilities, government-funded research institutes, and the Daejeon University-Industry Cooperative. Together, they will form the Daejeon Integrated Pavilion at CES 2027 and support participating companies in their global expansion.

The event was attended by about 40 people, including Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung, Chungnam National University President Kim Jung-kyum, Hannam University Vice President Kim Jong-ha, Mokwon University RISE Project Director Jeong Chul-ho, Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) Vice President Lee Myung-jong, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) Vice President Yoon Sung-chul, Daejeon University-Industry Cooperative Chairman Shim Hee-seob, Daejeon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (DCCEI) CEO Park Dae-hee, and representatives of promising local companies participating in the Daejeon Integrated Pavilion.

During the event, the operational performance of the CES 2026 Daejeon Pavilion and the roadmap for 2027 were announced. Tracking the performance of the 27 companies that participated in the CES 2026 Daejeon Pavilion revealed that they attracted 22.1 billion won in new investments, a 143% surge compared to the 9.15 billion won achieved by exhibition companies in 2025. The city plans to sustain this momentum into 2027.

Notably, Coolmicro Inc., which participated in the CES 2026 Daejeon Pavilion, attracted 4.1 billion won in investment after catching the market's attention with its Integrated Manifold MicroChannel (IMMC) technology, which maximizes heat transfer efficiency by supplying cooling water directly onto semiconductor chips.

In addition, Librest, a next-generation battery developer, attracted 14.3 billion won in investment through innovation award consulting and customized online/offline meetups during CES 2026, and is currently pursuing mass-production cooperation with Silicon Valley anode material company Amprius.

Building on these operational results and achievements, the Daejeon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation plans to support exhibition companies in strengthening their capabilities for CES 2027 through global marketing, pre-meetups with potential investors and buyers, and local networking.

The event featured a joint ceremony and performance pledging cooperation among the participating organizations, expressing a strong commitment to combining the talent, source technologies, and commercialization capabilities of each institution to fully showcase Daejeon’s potential on the CES 2027 stage.

In his welcoming remarks, Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung stated, "This Daejeon Integrated Pavilion is a global stage built together by universities and government-funded research institutes with regional innovation capabilities, where companies will display their best competencies and achieve top results." He added, "Daejeon City will become the most reliable companion, providing unsparing support so that our city's outstanding science and technology capabilities and creative ideas are proudly recognized in the global market and leap forward as global enterprises."
