Winners Selected Alongside Citizens via On-Site Voting, Including the Grand Prize
The "4th Daejeon Blues Creative Song Festival," a creative music stage singing about the stories of Daejeon, will take place on October 18 at 7:00 PM on the main stage of the Daejeon Expo Science Park.

The "Daejeon Blues Creative Song Festival" is a music competition program designed to discover original music themed around Daejeon Metropolitan City and to provide capable musicians with opportunities for creation and performance.

Marking its 4th anniversary this year, the festival is held in conjunction with the region's representative festival, the "Daejeon Bread Festival," and aims to present diverse cultural contents to citizens and tourists through the combination of music and local festivities.

This year, a total of 60 teams applied from across the country, and through a primary sound source evaluation and a secondary live performance evaluation, the final 8 teams were selected as finalists.

The finalist stage will feature ▲Nyonyo (Treasure Mountain) ▲You Should've Come Yesterday (Let's Go First) ▲Choi Hyun-mu (Broken Phonograph) ▲Hwang Seong-won (Bread Lover Girl) ▲Nosuker (Youthful Daejeon) ▲Nam-nam-mae (Daejeon Stream Where Bicycles Run) ▲Aniju (Daejeon's Night Sky) ▲Seongchun-inae (Right Now Daejeon), who will present unique creative songs themed around Daejeon.

Going beyond a simple competition, the final stage will be conducted as a citizen-participatory festival, with final winners determined by reflecting judges' scores (80%) and audience QR code voting (20%).

The scale of awards includes 1 Grand Prize team (Daejeon Mayor's Award), 1 Top Excellence Award, 3 Excellence Awards, and 3 Encouragement Awards, with total prize money amounting to 18 million won.

The winning entries will be utilized at major Daejeon city events, and participating musicians are expected to receive various follow-up supports such as music production and album release.

Kwon Kyung-min, Director-General of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Daejeon City, stated, "It is deeply meaningful that various original songs born around the theme of Daejeon will meet citizens on the stage of the Daejeon Bread Festival, a representative regional festival," adding, "We expect this song festival to serve as an opportunity to discover capable musicians while widely promoting Daejeon's unique music content."
