Province participates in "Tourism Expo Japan 2026" held in Tokyo from the 24th to the 27th

 
Chungnam Province participated in Japan's largest tourism exhibition to promote major tourism resources and four major events scheduled for next year to Japanese tourists.

The province announced on the 27th that it participated jointly with the Korea Tourism Organization and some 10 regional and local governments in "TOURISM EXPO JAPAN 2026," held in Tokyo for four days from the 24th to the 27th.

At this exhibition, the province introduced its tourism resources centering on Baekje culture and world heritage sites such as Gongju and Buyeo, which garner high interest in Japan.

In particular, the province intensively promoted four major events slated for next year—the Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo, the Island Biennale, the World Youth Day, and the Chungcheong World University Games—while exploring the potential for developing Japanese tourism products linked with its regional tourism resources.

Tourism Expo Japan is a large-scale tourism exhibition that drew about 130,000 visitors and 13,500 participating companies and organizations when held in Nagoya last year. With this year's event taking place in Tokyo and expecting around 200,000 visitors, it served as a prime opportunity to promote Chungnam to the Japanese tourism market.

Building on its participation in this exhibition, the province plans to boost promotional effectiveness by pursuing overseas tourism marketing centered on major international tourism fairs, including the Taipei International Travel Fair in November.

A provincial official stated, "We introduced the charm of Chungnam tourism by highlighting Baekje culture and world heritage sites—which attract strong interest from Japanese tourists—alongside next year's four major events. We will continue to strengthen overseas marketing tied to major international tourism exhibitions to translate these efforts into practical tourist attraction and tourism product development."
