HONG KONG — South Korean actor Jung Woo-sung has made his first official public appearance as a married man to promote his latest project, the Disney+ Original series Made in Korea. The actor attended the 'Disney+ Originals Preview 2025' event held today at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, marking a significant moment in his career following recent revelations about his personal life.
The 'Disney+ Originals Preview' is an annual showcase where Disney+ unveils its upcoming content lineup, featuring major original titles from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, including South Korea and Japan, alongside its global entertainment offerings.
Made in Korea, a highly anticipated tentpole series produced in collaboration between Disney+ and Hive Media Corp, is Jung's first work to be publicly presented since his marriage and the earlier news of his child born out of wedlock. Set during the turbulent 1970s, the drama explores a massive, era-defining incident faced by Baek Ki-tae, a man driven by ambition for wealth and power, and Jang Gun-young, a prosecutor who risks everything to stop him. Jung Woo-sung is cast in a lead role alongside actor Hyun Bin.
A Quiet Marriage Amidst Public Scrutiny
Jung Woo-sung’s marriage became public knowledge in August. Sources close to the actor confirmed that he had recently completed his marriage registration, legally becoming the husband of his long-time non-celebrity girlfriend. The woman is reportedly the same person Jung had been dating for approximately a decade. Their relationship was well-known among their friends, with the couple even engaging in double dates with his close friend, actor Lee Jung-jae, and his partner, Daesang Group Vice Chairwoman Lim Se-ryung.
The news of his marriage followed a significant public stir in November of the previous year when Jung was revealed to be the father of a child born to model Moon Gabi. The two met in 2022 and Moon Gabi became pregnant in June 2023, giving birth in March 2024. While they chose not to marry, reportedly agreeing to fulfill their parental duties separately, the subsequent news of Jung's marriage to a different woman brought his private affairs sharply into the public eye.
Jung's participation in the 34th Buil Film Awards Hand-printing event in Busan in September garnered substantial attention, but Made in Korea is his first project to be showcased since both the birth of his son and his official status as a married man were announced. The new series is therefore attracting added interest, as it represents a significant comeback for the actor onto the professional stage after a period of intense focus on his personal life.
