Canada's Wonderland amusement park in Vaughan, Ontario, will officially open 'AlpenFury,' Canada's longest, tallest, and fastest launched roller coaster, this Saturday, July 12. This roller coaster boasts a world-record nine inversions, promising an unforgettable experience for thrill-seekers.
AlpenFury: The Thrill of Fire and Ice Combined
"When fire and ice meet deep inside the mysterious Wonder Mountain, their power will launch guests into a thrilling journey on AlpenFury." As announced by Canada's Wonderland, AlpenFury is the park's 18th roller coaster and features a special story from its inception.
Riders will first be launched deep into the mountain before a second launch propels them vertically to the summit of the 50-meter-tall mountain. From there, they'll traverse the entire park at speeds reaching 115 km/h, navigating through nine breathtaking inversion sections. This sets a new world record for the most inversions on a launched roller coaster, offering not just speed and height, but also the exhilarating joy of twists and turns.
Heather Hill, General Manager and Vice President of Operations, stated, "AlpenFury will deliver an epic and record-breaking thrill. The combination of two launches, a vertical ascent, and nine inversions provides an action-packed and unforgettable experience. We are thrilled to add AlpenFury to our world-class lineup of attractions."
AlpenFury: More Than Just a Ride, It's for a Cause
The launch of AlpenFury goes beyond just the introduction of a new attraction; it's linked to a meaningful charitable event. Canada's Wonderland will host a 'Ride for a Cause Day' on Friday, July 18, to raise funds for SickKids Hospital in Toronto.
Tickets for this VIP event are $125 each and include parking, same-day admission to the park and Splash Works, two hours of exclusive ride time (8 AM to 10 AM) on six rides including AlpenFury, an AlpenFury ride photo (FunPix), and a private lunch. This package is valued at over $250, with all proceeds benefiting SickKids Hospital. The first 200 ticket purchasers will also receive an AlpenFury poster produced by 'Made to Thrill'.
SickKids Hospital is one of Canada's largest children's health education and research centers, globally recognized in the field of pediatrics. Through this charitable event, guests can enjoy the thrill of AlpenFury while simultaneously supporting sick children.
