The Daejeon Prehistory Museum will host the children's museum school program "Secrets of the Megalithic Monuments: In Search of Dolmens" on June 15th. The program will consist of two sessions, one at 10:30 AM and the other at 2 PM, both held in the museum's seminar room.
This program is designed for local elementary school students and aims to provide children with an easy and engaging way to learn about Daejeon's prehistoric culture.
In connection with the special children's exhibition "Secrets of the Megalithic Monuments: In Search of Dolmens," the program will explore the construction methods and forms of dolmens, the characteristics of dolmens in the Daejeon area, and the megalithic culture of the world.
Participating children will learn basic concepts about dolmens and also create their own dolmen terrariums using various materials such as colored clay.
Applications for the education program can be submitted online through the Daejeon Prehistory Museum website. A random drawing will select 24 participants for each session.
Kim Seon-ja, Director of the Daejeon Prehistory Museum, said, "Through this education program, we hope that children will understand the Bronze Age culture of our region and increase their interest and curiosity about dolmens. We will continue to operate a variety of hands-on programs that can stimulate the creativity and imagination of children who will be the future leaders."
Meanwhile, the Daejeon Prehistory Museum's special children's exhibition "Secrets of the Megalithic Monuments: In Search of Dolmens" is open until August 31st at the museum's 2nd floor children's experience room. Admission is free and no prior reservation is required.
