Multi-purpose Space for Startups, R&D, and Control Center; Public Participation Contest Underway

Bucheon City is holding a contest to select a name for the 'Bucheon R&D Complex Center,' located at 482 Sosaro (Chunui-dong). The submission period is from July 7th to July 25th, and any Bucheon citizen can participate.

The Bucheon R&D Complex Center is a multi-purpose facility that combines startup innovation spaces, R&D institutions, and an integrated urban control center. Participants are free to propose names that capture the building's characteristics and symbolism. Citizens wishing to participate can submit one entry per person via the Bucheon City website (www.bucheon.go.kr) or through the QR code on the promotional poster and the access link (https://naver.me/GIGSY73c).

The city will select the final winning entry through a first and second round of judging. Winners will receive commendations, and the grand prize winner will receive 500,000 won, the excellence prize winner 300,000 won, and the honorable mention winner 200,000 won in Onnuri gift certificates. The final results are scheduled to be announced on the Bucheon City website (www.bucheon.go.kr) in September.

Bucheon City Mayor Jo Yong-ik stated, "This contest is a process of creating the identity of a building that integrates startup, research and development (R&D), and control center functions together with citizens. Citizens' creative ideas and active participation will further enrich Bucheon's future."

Meanwhile, the 'Bucheon R&D Complex Center' is a 13-story building with two underground levels. The 1st floor is an open space, the 2nd to 6th floors are startup innovation spaces, the 7th to 8th floors are for R&D institutions, and the 9th to 13th floors house the integrated urban control center. The 1st floor was opened on March 29th and is being utilized by many citizens.
