Seoul, South Korea – Mercedes-Benz Korea announced today that its E200 model has been awarded the top prize in the 2024 Korean New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP). The luxury sedan achieved the highest overall score in all three assessment categories: collision safety, pedestrian safety, and safety assist.
At the 2024 KNCAP conference held in Seoul yesterday, the E200 was recognized for its exceptional performance among nine competing vehicles. The model earned a remarkable score of 91.92 out of 100, securing the top spot.
The E200’s impressive performance can be attributed to its comprehensive suite of safety features. Equipped with the latest Driving Assistance Package Plus, the vehicle offers advanced driver-assistance systems such as Active Distance Assist Distronic, which maintains a safe following distance, and Active Brake Assist, which can detect pedestrians and cyclists and apply the brakes if necessary. Additionally, the E200 features Active Steering Assist, which helps keep the vehicle centered in its lane, and PRE-SAFE® Impulse side, which inflates airbags to protect front-seat occupants in the event of a side impact.
Furthermore, the E200 is equipped with 11 airbags, including rear side airbags that deploy between the door or side wall trim and the rear window passenger to protect the chest in the event of a severe side impact.
Since its launch in Korea, the E200 has garnered significant popularity, with over 7,700 units sold as of November. The model offers a luxurious and comfortable driving experience, coupled with the latest 3rd generation MBUX infotainment system.
