Gyeongbuk agri-food items previously tucked away in online shopping carts met their customers live on-site in Mungyeong. Gyeongsangbuk-do invited 25 VIP customers of the "Saiso" platform for a special day packed with making gochujang (Korean chili paste) and Omija syrup, exploring the Mungyeong Apple Festival, and wine tasting.
Gyeongsangbuk-do hosted the "2026 Gyeongbuk Saiso VIP Customer Invitation Event" around the Mungyeong-si area. The event was organized to express gratitude to loyal Saiso users and allow them to experience firsthand the Gyeongbuk agricultural products they usually purchase online.
Participants included 25 applicants chosen alongside one companion each, such as family members or acquaintances, from among customers who purchased agri-food products on Saiso between 2025 and 2026. A total of 81 people applied, and selections were made on a first-come, first-served basis.
At a traditional cultural experience space in Mungyeong, participants learned the journey of how Gyeongbuk agricultural products make it to the dinner table by crafting gochujang and Omija syrup.
At the Mungyeong Apple Festival held in Mungyeong Sajae, participants tasted local Mungyeong apples and toured the festival grounds. They explored representative Gyeongbuk apples alongside a variety of other regional agricultural products.
Finally, they observed the wine manufacturing process and enjoyed a tasting session, witnessing how local agricultural products transform into finished consumer goods.
Event participants also took part in an event sharing their experience reviews on social media channels such as blogs and Instagram. Through this, the province plans to expand communication between Saiso users and consumers while enhancing brand awareness as an online sales channel for Gyeongbuk agricultural specialties.
Park Chan-guk, Director General of the Agriculture, Livestock, and Distribution Bureau at Gyeongsangbuk-do, stated, "We prepared this opportunity to express our gratitude to the customers who love Saiso, allowing them to directly see, taste, and experience the Gyeongbuk agri-food products they once bought online." He added, "Moving forward, we will continue to increase customer satisfaction with Saiso and widely promote the excellence of Gyeongbuk agri-food through various programs where customers and producers can communicate and build trust together."
"Saiso" is Gyeongsangbuk-do's representative agricultural and specialty online shopping mall that directly connects consumers with agricultural specialties and processed foods produced in Gyeongbuk. The provincial government operates it to broaden sales channels for local farmers and boost farm household income.
