Confirmed potential for market expansion by operating five selected local tourism and experience products on-site.
The Jeonbuk State Culture and Tourism Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the "Foundation") announced that a total of 964 runners and tourists participated in the "2026 Jinan-plateau Forestival: Run & Heal," co-hosted with the National Jinan-plateau Forest Healing Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Healing Center") around the Healing Center area from October 10 to 11.
Held for the first time this year, the event combined trail running and forest healing programs utilizing Jinan’s forest resources with local experience tourism products from various regions in Jeonbuk, allowing participants to run and relax in the forest while experiencing local programs.
The trail running was operated in 6km and 16km courses connecting the Healing Center’s circulation paths and forest trails. The 6km course was designed for beginners and family participants, while the 6km course targeted experienced trail runners.
Through this year’s "Local Specialized Experience Tourism Product Cultivation Project," the Foundation showcased five finalized experience tourism products at the event venue. About 200 people participated in the experience programs, providing tourists with an opportunity to experience local tourism products from various regions of Jeonbuk in one place, alongside trail running and forest healing activities.
The five local specialized experience tourism products are: ▲ Wanju Bonggangyo's "Ceramic Transfer and Potter's Wheel Experience," ▲ Jeonju Moju Experience Ye's "Traditional Ginseng Moju Experience," ▲ Iksan Seodong Farm's "Tropical Fruit Brunch Experience", ▲ Wanju Dreamtteul Healing Farm's "Healing Flower Basket Experience," and ▲ Iksan Spring and Laura's Healing Farm's "Healing Herbal Tea and Handmade Refreshment Experience."
On the second day of the event, comedian Kang Jae-jun participated in content filming for the Foundation's western inland tourism promotion YouTube channel, "Wamma Jeonbuk," directly experiencing the trail running and local experience programs. The filmed video is scheduled to be released on "Wamma Jeonbuk" in the future.
In particular, this event, co-hosted by the Foundation and the Healing Center, is meaningful in that it integrated the local experience tourism products discovered by the Foundation with Jinan's forest healing resources and outdoor activities. The Foundation plans to utilize the event participation status and satisfaction survey results to improve local experience tourism products and regional tourism projects in the future.
Meanwhile, the "2026 Jinan-plateau Forestival: Run & Heal" was hosted by the Korea Forest Service, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and Jinan-gun, and was co-organized by the Foundation and the Healing Center.
