Cheonan City announced on the 1st that it will conduct intensive disinfection ahead of the 'K-Culture Expo' scheduled to be held at the Independence Hall in May.
The city will work with a professional pest control company to carry out extermination activities targeting mosquito larvae in Baengnyeon Pond and wooded areas, as well as ticks in the lawn within the Independence Hall, to ensure a pleasant environment for visitors to enjoy the expo.
In particular, the city plans to install AI-based remote mosquito monitoring equipment (DMS) within the event venue to reduce the overuse of insecticides and promote eco-friendly pest control.
Lee Hyun-ki, head of the Seobuk-gu Public Health Center, stated, "As this is an event that many visitors will attend, creating a hygienic environment through disinfection is our top priority. We will do our best to maintain a safe and pleasant environment by conducting disinfection inspections during the event period as well."
