CJ CheilJedang, a leading South Korean food company, announced today the launch of a new collaborative product with Kurly, a popular online grocery platform. The new product, "Jeilmatge Kurly Purple Sweet Potato Bungeoppang," is the third release from the "Jeilmatge Kurly" joint project launched in September.
The "Jeilmatge Kurly Purple Sweet Potato Bungeoppang" is a unique take on the traditional Korean fish-shaped pastry, filled with a sweet and savory purple sweet potato paste. CJ CheilJedang's unique premix technology, combined with glutinous rice flour, creates a crispy exterior and a chewy interior.
The bite-sized bungeoppang comes in various adorable designs, including "Fish in Love," "Surprised Fish," and "Confident Fish," adding a fun element to the snack. The product is exclusively available on Kurly and is currently being offered at a 50% discount as part of the launch promotion.
"Jeilmatge Kurly" is a collaborative project between CJ CheilJedang and Kurly, aimed at providing customers with products that perfectly meet their needs by combining CJ CheilJedang's food manufacturing expertise with Kurly's curation know-how. Previous products from the collaboration, such as "Juicy+ Wanggyoja" (juicy dumplings) and two types of churros (cinnamon and consommé), have been well-received by consumers, with cumulative sales of 68,000 units and 30,000 units, respectively, in the first two months of their launch.
Building on this success, CJ CheilJedang plans to introduce additional products in December, including "Jeilmatge Kurly Chadol Kimchi Wanggyoja" (beef and kimchi dumplings).
"Through this collaboration, we will continue to offer differentiated products with high quality and taste that meet the needs of consumers," said Im Hyun-dong, head of e-commerce at CJ CheilJedang.
