Cheonan City is helping multicultural families settle into the community by providing free wedding ceremonies through its "Happy Wedding Day" program.

In collaboration with the Cheonan Multicultural Family Support Center and Berry Convention, the city has successfully hosted monthly free wedding ceremonies for the past four years, celebrating the unions of 28 multicultural couples. This year, the program has added a new dimension by providing financial support for home visits, further enhancing its appeal to multicultural families.

The "Happy Wedding Day" program has been a heartwarming gift for multicultural couples facing financial difficulties. Mr. A, who is married to a Vietnamese woman, finally had his wedding after nine years, while Mr. B, married to a Japanese woman, was able to have a wedding without the financial burden.

Yun Yeon-han, director of the Cheonan Multicultural Family Support Center, emphasized that these free weddings and home visit support go beyond material assistance, contributing to the psychological stability and social integration of multicultural families. She expressed the center's commitment to continuing its efforts to support multicultural families in building happy lives in collaboration with the community.

Cheonan City offers various support programs to help multicultural families settle in the community. In addition to free weddings, the city provides Korean language education, cultural experience programs, and other services to facilitate their adaptation to the local community.

Cheonan City's "Happy Wedding Day" program has been recognized as a model for supporting multicultural families. However, there is a need to continuously expand support to benefit more multicultural families. Additionally, developing customized support programs that address the diverse needs of multicultural families is another important task.

It is hoped that, like Cheonan City's efforts, support programs for multicultural families will continue to expand, allowing all multicultural families to live happy lives.
