CHEONAN — The Cheonan Urban Corporation (President Shin Kwang-ho) announced on September 22 that it will officially open its new indoor sports facility, the Korea Football Park Arena, on September 30 and offer free admission to citizens for a full month.

The newly established Korea Football Park Arena is a comprehensive multi-sport complex designed to boost the health and physical well-being of local residents. The facility features a modern indoor swimming pool, a multi-purpose gymnasium, and a fully equipped fitness center. Aligning with Cheonan City’s public sports facility operation policies, the arena is scheduled to operate year-round to maximize accessibility for the public. 

Following its grand opening, the facility will undergo a month-long trial period of free public access through October 31. During this trial phase, visitors can enter on a first-come, first-served basis, though entries may be temporarily restricted if the facility reaches maximum capacity. 

On its opening day on September 30, the arena will operate from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Starting October 1, regular operating hours will be set from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekdays, and from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. Following the conclusion of the trial phase, the arena will transition to paid regular operations starting November 1. Once regular operations begin, the facility will remain open year-round, closing only on major holidays such as New Year’s Day and the days of Seollal (Lunar New Year) and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving). 

President Shin Kwang-ho expressed strong expectations regarding the new launch, stating, "The opening of the Korea Football Park Arena significantly enhances citizens' accessibility to everyday sports and fitness facilities." He added, "During the trial operation period, we will actively gather valuable feedback from local residents to build a pleasant, comfortable, and safe environment for everyone." 

Local authorities anticipate that this comprehensive sports hub will serve as a cornerstone for community wellness and active lifestyles in Cheonan, encouraging more residents to engage in regular physical activities.
