Korean Air, which recorded its highest-ever sales last year, will pay its employees performance-based bonuses equivalent to 500% of their monthly base pay.
According to Korean Air on the 25th, the 2024 business performance bonus of this size is expected to be finalized at the regular shareholders' meeting next month.
500% of the base pay is the highest level of payment rate ever. Korean Air raised the performance-based bonus payment limit from 300% to 500% two years ago, and paid 407% last year.
Previously, Korean Air achieved record-high sales of 16.1166 trillion won on a separate basis last year, and recorded an operating profit of 1.9034 trillion won.
In an internal email, Korean Air Vice Chairman Woo Ki-hong revealed the size of the performance-based bonus, saying, "We are facing a very important time to start a new future as an integrated airline." "Let's create a history of leaping from being a representative of Korea to becoming a truly global airline," he said.
