Kbank, a leading digital bank in South Korea, announced on [date] that it will temporarily suspend its services from 0:00 AM to 8:00 AM on December 8th to conduct a system upgrade.
During this eight-hour period, all financial transactions through the Kbank app and website will be unavailable. This includes:
New applications and inquiries for savings, deposits, and loans
Domestic and international credit card payments and cancellations
Deposits and withdrawals to and from Upbit, a cryptocurrency exchange
ATM deposits and withdrawals
Customer inquiries and services
Notifications for deposits, withdrawals, and card payments
Transactions and inquiries to Kbank accounts through other financial institutions
However, customers can continue to use the transportation card function, report lost credit cards, and report phishing scams through the customer service center.
Kbank has decided to proceed with the system upgrade to ensure stable service and has scheduled the maintenance for the early morning hours to minimize customer inconvenience. The exact duration of the outage may vary depending on the progress of the work.
"We will be conducting a system upgrade during the early morning hours to provide improved services," said a Kbank official. "We kindly request that customers who have important fund transfers or payments scheduled (such as loan repayments, real estate payments, trade payments, or cryptocurrency transactions) complete them in advance to avoid any inconvenience caused by the temporary service disruption."
