In recent years, Korean cosmetics, known as 'K-Beauty,' have maintained unwavering popularity in the Asian beauty market. Armed with excellent quality and innovative products, K-Beauty brands are demonstrating a strong presence and leading the market in Vietnam.
In fact, Vietnam's imports of Korean cosmetics reached a staggering $327 million in 2022. This is an overwhelmingly large figure, exceeding the total import value from the 2nd to 5th ranked countries combined. Backed by this high demand, various Korean beauty brands have successfully established themselves in the Vietnamese market and are achieving remarkable sales performance.
Vietnamese consumers have shown great interest in Korean culture through Korean dramas, movies, K-pop, and other aspects of the Korean Wave, which has naturally led to a preference for Korean products. In particular, K-Beauty products are gaining great popularity among the younger generation due to their excellent quality and trendy image. Furthermore, a wide range of products at various price points are being released, broadening consumer choices.
Industry experts predict that this trend will continue based on the growth potential of the Vietnamese market and the competitiveness of K-Beauty brands. It is expected that more Korean beauty brands will enter the Vietnamese market in the future, further elevating the status of K-Beauty.
