The Paraguayan government is actively working to attract foreign investment by promoting the enactment of a new law for industrial park development. Marco Riquelme, Vice Minister of Industry, stated that the government is focusing all its efforts on modernizing laws for industrial park development, improving infrastructure, and selecting strategic locations.
This bill has been prepared in response to the growing trend of companies in various sectors considering investment in Paraguay. The new law aims to improve the infrastructure and services of industrial parks, including wastewater treatment facilities, stable energy supply, and logistics optimization.
The government plans to work closely with state governments and local autonomous entities to select and develop strategic areas, thereby promoting regional development and creating new jobs. The legislative process will be transparent, and fair conditions will be provided to all stakeholders.
In addition to infrastructure modernization, the bill includes financial incentives to encourage companies to relocate to designated areas. This measure is expected to contribute to the orderly growth of cities, environmental protection, and the improvement of the quality of life for local communities.
Vice Minister Riquelme mentioned that they are analyzing successful international cases to develop the optimal model tailored to Paraguay's specific needs. These plans include the development of specialized industrial corridors, such as for the wood industry and pork production, as well as regulations for the digital industry and support for technology startups. These industrial corridors will be driven by both government policies and private sector initiatives.
"We are studying various existing models to develop a model that suits Paraguay's needs," said Vice Minister Riquelme. "We want a modern model prepared to accommodate not only traditional industries but also digital industries, and we want to make Paraguay an attractive place for technology entrepreneurs."
Furthermore, he explained that the implementation of industrial corridors will enable the concentration of related industries in strategic areas, facilitating the export of products with higher added value.
Paraguay's industrial park development plan is expected to play a significant role in promoting economic growth through the attraction of foreign investment and strengthening national competitiveness.
